1 | Too Quick to Judge
Demasiado rápido para juzgar. Description A short-film that teaches us that we shouldn’t be too quick to judge people. If we want to link with other, we should consider both our and the other’s needs and peculiarities. It is particularly true when the relation involves people in special needs. The touching short-video regards the deafness and the specific communicative channel of deaf-people. It includes two different level of analysis: an explicit and realistic one, and a metaphorical one, just because deafness can be a social illness, too. |

with Italian and Spanish subtitles |
Learners should watch the video and reflect on their personal experience.
They should be able to catch the metaphoric meaning of deafness. For example, they should wonder their selves: “Who is the deaf in this video?” -Individual learning reflection |

This matter is shown like a tour across gestures around the world — from the French sign for “drunk,” to obscene Brazilian gesturing, as well as the Bulgarian custom of nodding to mean “no” instead of “yes.” Video is quite easy and funny and shows gestures have an important cultural component. |

3 | Culture Iceberg
Description Iceberg represents a good image just to talk about complexity of the culture. In fact, every culture shows a surface level, that all people can easily get, and an underground level, the big one. Getting the aspects of the underground level means getting the other’s point-of-view. Thus, it is important people know language, food, dress, etc. of the other, as well as religion, spiritual beliefs, concept of justice, how emotions are managed, and so on. The latter aspects represent the deeper part of every culture. At this level, that is not always shown, culture represents a key factor for good relationships among people. |
Video (1’ 50”) | English | Learners should reflect on the two level of the culture: the more surface one and the deeper and bigger one.
Learners should be able to list some peculiarities on both their own culture, values, habits and the other’s culture, values, habits. -Individual reflection -Self-Assessment |

5 | The Intouchables
“Quasi Amici” (Italian Version) trailer “INTOCABLE” (spanish version) Description The trailer of the famous movie is aimed to suggest a deeper analysis of the matter. Based on a true story, Untouchables recounts the unlikely friendship between an exceedingly wealthy quadriplegic (rendered immobile by a paragliding accident), and his impecunious caretaker (a streetwise immigrant from Senegal). In this sense, the film is a tale of two civitates, the refined world of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where the well-coiffed-and-coutured break from shopping with kir royales at Les Deux Magots, and the rough-edged banlieue, the suburbs of Paris where the gendarmerie refuse to go, or so it’s said. Untouchables is infectiously ebullient and delightfully insouciant, a sentimental send-up of modern society and an endearing testament to human resilience and empathy |
Video (1’ 51”) | French trailer with English, Italian and Spanish subtitles | -the Trailer of Movie should improve the learners’curiosity to study in depth the matter. Thus, it is important in order to suggest to learners to watch the whole film.
